Long wait to see the Doctor?

 

If you have (or suspect that you have) one of the above conditions listed, you then don’t have to wait to see your GP. All you have to do is visit Merlin Pharmacy for treatment and advice.

 

If you do not PAY for your prescriptions you will be able to visit Merlin and other selected Pharmacies who, if appropriate, will be able to prescribe effective medicine for these conditions, free of charge.

 

If you PAY for your medication then you will be charged the retail value of the medicine supplied or prescription charge , whichever is cheaper.

 

Can any one use this scheme?

 

Yes.

 

Providing one of the following apply.

 

  • Are registered with a local Medway surgery

 

  • Are suffering from one of the listed ailments

 

Can I go to any Pharmacy?

 

No.

 

Not all Pharmacies can provide the service at present. Please ask Merlin Pharmacy to see if a local Pharmacy provides this service. The Pharmacists that provide this service have all undergone additional training and are credited.

 

 

What will the Pharmacist ask me?

 

Once your eligibility for this service has been confirmed, you will be asked questions about your symptoms. You will also be asked about the current medication that you take. This is to make sure that the medication that you are given is suitable for you.

 

If your condition makes it necessary for you to see a Doctor, the Pharmacist will inform you and also your surgery and will try to make an appointment for you.

 

You will not always need medication.

 

You may not need any medication. If this is the case the Pharmacist will give you advice on how beast to deal with your symptoms. If it is appropriate, the Pharmacist will supply you medication.

 

The Pharmacist will discuss with you the best way to deal with your ailment and how to take the medicine if supplied.
